About The Role
Were looking for a smart and motivated Junior Python Developer to support and maintain key components of our data infrastructure for Marketplace Pulse (MPP) a trusted source for marketplace analytics and insights. This role is perfect for someone early in their career who is ready to take ownership of web scraping, data parsing, and basic frontend tasks while growing alongside a supportive and experienced team.
What Youll Do
- Web ScrapingMaintain and optimize existing scrapers using PlaywrightInvestigate and fix scraper issues in a timely manner (ideally within 24 hours)Ensure data collection remains stable and accurate
- Website Monitoring & MaintenanceHelp maintain uptime and performance of marketplacepulse.com and sellerratings.comTroubleshoot website issues and apply bug fixes as needed
- Frontend MaintenanceContribute to frontend upkeep (basic HTML, CSS, JS no fancy frameworks required)Implement small UI changes and page updates as needed
- System ImprovementLook for ways to improve performance of scraping and data workflowsCollaborate with the team to evolve the platform architecture over timeOptimize database queries and routines where necessary
- Python proficiency, particularly with requests, Playwright, or similar scraping libraries
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS/JS enough to support existing frontends
- Familiarity with working with JSON and CSV formats
- Experience using Git and working in a version-controlled team
- Basic website maintenance and debugging skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a willingness to learn
- Experience deploying projects on Heroku or AWS (EC2, S3, etc.)
- Previous experience in e-commerce or scraping retail websites
- Contributions to open-source or side projects in relevant tech
- 2-3 years experience in a similar role
- Someone curious, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working independently with guidance when needed
- Willingness to take responsibility for the health of critical scrapers and frontends
